Summary

Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety maintenance systems.  Maintain processes to support the achievement of the company’s business goals and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervisor.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Must be available for overtime hours when necessary.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

Education and Experience and/or skills

Completion of an apprenticeship or an equivalent number of years of education and/or production maintenance experience.  An Associate of Applied Science degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance a plus.  Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills.  Training or equivalent experience with PLC’s or programmable logic controllers.  Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.

Language Skills    

Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine correspondence.

Mathematical Skills   

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability   

Ability to solve problems that arise in the shop where no recommendation may exist.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the internet and MS Office 365.
